
Police reports indicated the six identified as Hamisi Said alias Nokia, Christian Julias alias Ndinyo, Kibwana Mwinyi Kimuswa, Ali Bakari alias Mwamzenizi, Winny Shakila Odinga and Elizabeth Hope were arrested after undercover officers drawn from vijiweni police station staged an operation in areas of Kibundani in Mwaweche within Likoni sub-county where they were hiding inside a dwelling house planning to carry out criminal activities.
The report revealed further that three pangas, two swords, one roll of bhang, three mobile phones believed to believed to have been stolen from victims and a packet of rizler were recovered from the suspects.
This arrest came days after two other suspects were arrested by DCI officers at Likoni ferry mainland ramp while crossing from Mombasa Island.
The two, Omar Mohammed Jelani,21, and Salim Kea Ngesa,19, were allegedly coming to Likoni from Kisauni to terrorise residents.
While confirming the arrest, Likoni sub-county police commander Geoffrey Ruheni said security agencies will not tire in cracking down the dangerous criminal gangs on the prowl across Likoni.
The area police boss vowed that police will leave no stone unturned in their quest to apprehend and bring to book all machette-wielding criminal gang members from other areas of Mombasa who come to carry criminal activities in Likoni.
