A family in Bamburi’s kwa Bullo village is counting losses after their house went on fire this afternoon while they were attending a church service. However, there were no casualties reported during the incident. The family has lost valuables worth thousands of shillings to the infano. Neighbors who attended the scene managed to put off the fire before it spread to the neighbouring houses.
Eyewitnesses say the fire could have been caused by a bush fire which spread to the house from a burning gabbage by a neighbour. The family is now appealing for assistance from local authorities and well-wishers to help them rebuild their lives. The head of the family, Mr.Shadrack Katana, expressed his gratitude to the neighbors who acted quickly to contain the fire, preventing what could have been an even greater disaster.
The village elder Mrs. Mwanajuma Suleiman, has also called on local businesses and NGOs to step in and provide support. As the sun sets over Kwa Bullo village, the family, though devastated, remains hopeful. With the support of their community and any aid that might come their way, they are determined to rebuild not just their home, but their lives as well.
