50-year-old man has been stabbed to death by his girlfriend in Mtaa wa Maka Village in Likoni, Mombasa County.

The woman only identified as Purity is accused of killing her boyfriend, Abdallah Rashid yesterday night by stabbing him four times in the stomach after protracted domestic squabbles.

Confirming the incident, Likoni sub-county police commander Geoffrey Ruheni said that a neighbour reported the incident at around 10:00 am, and police who rushed to the scene found the deceased helplessly lying on the floor.

The suspect who sells local brew popularly known as Mnazi at Ferry’s Kasarani area fled from the scene immediately after committing the heinous act.

According to neighbors, the suspect transferred ksh.99,000 from the deceased’s M-pesa account before she escaped

Ruheni has condemned the incident and called for amicable ways of resolving domestic violence without resulting in deaths.

“The family feud-related deaths have cost the country many lives and we cannot continue like that. Families need to have the best ways to resolve the problem before reaching that far,” Ruheni said.

Abdallah was a businessman who managed a fish stall within ferry.

The body of the deceased was moved to Coast general referral hospital mortuary as the suspect remains  at large.
