The Kenya Ports Authority Board Chairman Hon. Benjamin Tayari has urged the Dockworkers union to foster closer cooperation with the management to enhance port performance.
He said dialogue and teamwork should always be prioritized during engagements to improve productivity levels and sustenance of industrial peace in the port business.
He commended the Union for deliberate efforts to cultivate sound relationship with the management for mutual benefits between both parties.
The Chairman made the remarks when he received the union officials at the KPA headquarters, Kipevu. They were led by the national Chairman Mohamed Mwasuri , the General Secretary Simon Sang and national treasurer Selestine Dana Osoo.
The union officials however congratulated the Chairman on his appointment and assured him of their support to ensure the Authority delivers its mandate.
They handed over to the Chairman, a 4- point proposal for a Memorandum of Understanding which they described as the basis for the their new found relationship with the Authority.
The Chairman said he had listened keenly the various issues raised by the Union urging the officials to be patient as he sought the best way forward.
