A middle-aged woman from Mombasa is in trouble with authorities for allegedly threatening to kill a senior county government employee.

Everlyne Awour Ochieng’, allegedly threatened to kill Pauline Adhiambo Oginga who is the chief officer nominee for environment in the county government of Mombasa.

Awour was charged at the Mombasa Law Courts yesterday where she denied the charges levelled against her.

During her plea taking, the court heard that the suspect delivered the death threats at Central police station before police officers who had summoned her for interrogation over allegations of similar offences.

The suspect who appeared before Principal Magistrate Vincent Adet pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A charge sheet read in court indicated that the suspect committed the act at Central police station in Mvita sub-county, Mombasa county.

“Between her and me one will die, kwanza hiyo ofisi ya environment penye amepelekwa atatoka na sanduku.” read the court documents in part.

She was however released on a bond of Ksh50,000 with a surety of the same amount or an alternative cash bail of similar amount.
