Likoni sub-county police have arrested two notorious criminal suspects believed to be ringleaders of a new “Rio Governmento” criminal gang responsible for a series of robberies in Likoni and parts of Kwale.

The two suspects; Ramadha Ganjuu Lucky alias Ramah,18, from Majengo Mapya Likoni and Athman Ali Mlingo,17, from Maganya Kulo, Matuga in Kwale county were today arrested at Masjid Alfa area while in a house which was locked from outside by a team of undercover officers from from Shelly Beach police station who were working on intelligence reports from members of the public.

The crime bursters managed to recover a sharp modified slasher like sword, a panga and metal bar believed to have been used in mugging innocent members of the public.

After thorough interrogation the detectives established that “Ramah” as popularly known by his associates in crime took the mantle from “Hassan” who was the second in command of “Chicago gang” which operated its criminal activities in areas of Dudus, Buffalo,Celtel and several other areas of Timbwani after his brother “Solo” currently at large and formed a new group. “Hassan” was early last month Lynched by angry mob after was caught robbing a woman.

Police also uncovered that , “Ramah” in his now upcoming gang is working with other dangerous suspects including “Solo” currently on the run, Titus Mumo alias Tito who was recently released from jail, “Yahya” currently in Shimo la Tewa facing similar charges,Athman Hamisi alias Asuu currently in his hide out at Magongo, “Modishelah” from Homeboys area, “Bregadier” from Masjid Bilal area, “William” alias Perasi from Vanga estate, “Jonje” from office ya Jara area, “Kolongo” from Sharks area, “victor” alias Dogo kali and “Shalea Zulu” among others.

Meanwhile the two suspects are still held at Shelly Beach police station pending court arraignment tomorrow.
