A son to Baktash Akasha who has since been sentenced in the US has been charged with robbery with violence in Mombasa.
Akasha Baktash Akasha who appeared before Senior principal magistrate, David Odhiambo, pleaded not guilty to two charges of robbery with violence labelled against him.
The particulars being that on January 29, 2022 at voyager area in Nyali sub-county within Mombasa, jointly with others not before court the accused, being armed with offensive weapons namely; a knife robbed Naeem Yusuf Mohammed kshs.15,000, a mobile phone make IPHONE II valued at kshs.70,000 and threatened to harm him.
In the second count, the suspect is accused to have on January 6,this year at Kennol area in Nyali sub-county, jointly with others not before court, while armed with kitchen knives and a hammer, robbed Derrick Gikanga Wanjiku kshs3,000 cash money, a Tecno Camon 19 mobile phone valued at kshs.41,000, shoes valued at kshs.2,500, ear pod valued at kshs.1,700, and a perfume value kshs.1,300 all totalling to kshs.49,500.
He was released on a bond of Kshs 500,000 for each of the counts and two similar surety.
The court ordered he be provided with a state counsel due to the gravity of the matter,
The case will be mentioned on February 14, 2023.
