A sex worker from Mombasa was today Monday December 19, charged with stealing kshs.65,000,from her male “customer”. Selestine Atieno Odhiambo, appeared before Mombasa principal magistrate Vincent Adet and pleaded not guilty to the stealing charges. The court heard that, Atieno allegedly stole the money after she drugged her regular client who fell unconscious. The incident occurred on December 15, this year at Texas streets in Likoni ferry within the county of Mombasa where the accused allegedly transferred money from the Mpesa and bank accounts of Charles Okoyo Jakamumbo after lacing his drink with unknown substance.

Medical reports tabled in court indicated that Jakamumbo had been taken to hospital while unconscious. Adet ordered she be released on a bond of Kshs.100,000 and a cash bail of a similar amount. The matter will be mentioned on January 30, 2023 for pre trial purposes.
