The president of the Mombasa County Hockey Association, Mr. Oliver Mascarenhas commends the efforts of the Mombasa teams, saying they were proud to see them venturing into the development of their talents in hockey.

Mascarenhas also said that the Mombasa hockey unit has put in place strategies to establish sea hockey that will involve international teams.

Speaking from Aryans grounds on Monday Novenber 12, the association’s deputy leader, Mr. Michael Katana, applauded Mombasa teams for their victory in the Mombasa champion’s league finals played on Jamhuri day.

Katana emphasized that it was the right time for Mombasa teams to shine and become famous.

He further asked the Kenya Hockey Union to give players from Mombasa a chance to represent the nation because they have shown their potential.

The official now wants trials and selection of National teams held in Mombasa unlike it has always been saying many good players from Mombasa misses out the chances due to the long distance.
